Back in the day,
Barbour County was known as a "must hunt" destination for
dedicated bird hunters. The famous Elhew Kennel was located
just 20 minutes to our north and Wycott Plantation, 15
minutes to the east. Birds are the owners’ true passion and
no expense is spared when it comes to restoring quail
habitat. Our goal is to resurrect the wild bird population
to its original and sustainable existence. A day hunting
birds at Pine Ridge is our "Crown Jewel" and only offered to
the most serious bird hunters who appreciate fine shotguns,
great dogs, and the Bobwhite Quail.
Our released birds
are never handled by humans and usually turned out two or
three days prior to a hunt in order to prevent our pointers
from traveling a course. This keeps our guides and dogs
honest and hunters on their toes. If you choose to bring
your own dogs, we have kennels available, but beware . . .
they may not want to leave with you when your hunt is over.
