Pine Ridge is a full service hunting preserve located in the heart of game rich Barbour County. The land was purchased by my grandfather, the late Donald A. Dixon in 1952. Since then, family and friends have been the only people to have had the distinct privilege of hunting this property. We have recently decided to share this experience with other outdoorsman on a limited basis. In order to provide you our undivided attention and quality hunt that you expect, we limit the number of guest to four. In addition, we limit the number of hunting days per week to four, reducing stress on our wildlife. Pine Ridge is located south of Wycott Plantation and north of Barbour Creek Plantation on County Road 79 near Clayton. We are fortunate to be surrounded by responsible landowners that share the same philosophy on managing habitat for wildlife in the area. Due to our remote location, it is seldom we hear the sounds associated with the modern day world. Although, the sounds of quail, turkey, frogs, crickets, and the wind blowing through the trees can be deafening. |
We are a family of dedicated hunters and are extremely passionate about what we are doing at Pine Ridge. It remains our mission to maximize wildlife habitat for deer, quail, and turkey. We abide by a strict sound ordinance at Pine Ridge and do not allow the use of four wheelers or cell phones while hunting. Transportation will be provided by electric golf cart or foot travel and the use of small bore double guns is required on quail hunts.
We welcome both day hunters and overnight guests. Our overnight guests will surely feel comfortable in our Adirondack style lodge. Over fifty wildlife mounts from around the world adorn the knotty pine walls and the rustic birch bark furniture is reminiscent of days gone by. Our lodge overlooks a well stocked pond and we highly encourage you to take the time to wet a line.
After a long days hunt, a warm fire will welcome you along with hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. We'll also provide delicious meals for all guests. Our outdoor fire pit is an inviting place to enjoy great conversation with friends and where the embellishment of hunting tales are common and sometimes encouraged. In our Southern slang, Pine Ridge simply means "heck of a lot of fun."
